About Me
Hi, My name is Sam and I am a Year 5 student at Mt Carmel School. I wanted to participate in the Summer Blogging as I was with my mum when Rachel came to talk to her class. I asked my mum if I can join. Finally she agrees and I am very keen to journey through with so many children around New Zealand.

FACTS ABOUT MAUI
- He was a very brave man from Hawaiki.
- He did not give up to his brothers' refusal and a great planner, who trusted his grandmother's advise and his karakia.
- He fished the North Island of New Zealand and the South Island is his boat. What a great fisherman.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Rachel and I will be working with Billy, Patricia, Nicky and Ruby this summer to support your learning. We can't wait to read your posts and provide comments. I can see that you've already completed three activity posts. That's awesome :)
I really enjoyed reading this first post about Maui. It sounds like he was a very brave man and a great fisherman. Speaking of fishing, have you ever tried it? I haven't had the chance yet but I am thinking about taking my son, Aronui, out fishing one day. I've heard that you have to be really patient. I'll have to see if Aronui can handle it. He's a pretty active seven year old so he might find it difficult to sit still for hours at a time...
Hope that you and your family are having a nice holiday together. Do you have any special plans for New Years?
