Bonus Activity: Waka Ama
I would not like to compete in a Waka Ama race, however, it looks like a very fun sport. I can see that like every sport, it takes a lot of hard work and commitment.
I have a sport that I love doing. It is ice figure skating. I am committed to it. I go to the rink twice during the term and every holiday I participate in the skating holiday programme. In the last two weeks i have been going every day for 3 hours.
Go Waka Ama!
About Me
Hi, My name is Sam and I am a Year 5 student at Mt Carmel School. I wanted to participate in the Summer Blogging as I was with my mum when Rachel came to talk to her class. I asked my mum if I can join. Finally she agrees and I am very keen to journey through with so many children around New Zealand.

Hey again Sam, thanks for sharing your thoughts on whether or not you would participate in the Waka Ama challenge. I have to agree with you, I would not want to give it a go either.
ReplyDeleteI would find it too tough on the upper body strength. I would much prefer to play soccer, netball or basketball.
That's cool that you are really into figure skating. I can skate a bit but not that well. I used to roller blade a lot when I was a young kid - I think that helped me.
Good luck with the figure skating career! You sound very committed and dedicated.
Thanks, Billy
